Dr. Michael Reilly currently serves as Interim Vice-Chair of Medical Physics and Associate Director for Quality and Safety at the University of California, Irvine. His work focuses on leveraging translational technology to improve patient care, with a particular emphasis on extending academic medicine and clinical standards to community settings. Dr. Reilly has previously served as the Principal Investigator on an NIH R21-funded project focused on holographic millimeter-wave imaging for localizing and monitoring radiation oncology patients.

In addition to his research, Dr. Reilly has presented and published numerous studies on radiation treatment outcomes and has a strong interest in treatment planning, stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), proton therapy systems, and advanced radiation therapy procedures. He also recently chaired the ACR-ARS Practice Parameter writing committee for the performance of Total Body Irradiation.

Dr. Reilly is passionate about medical education and was honored with the 2020 Outstanding Service and Teaching Excellence Award in Radiation Oncology. He earned his Ph.D. in Nuclear, Plasma, and Radiological Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and has held previous academic appointments at Washington University in St. Louis and the University of Southern California.

Altmetrics Details PMC Citations indicate the number of times the publication was cited by articles in PubMed Central, and the Altmetric score represents citations in news articles and social media. (Note that publications are often cited in additional ways that are not shown here.) Fields are based on how the National Library of Medicine (NLM) classifies the publication's journal and might not represent the specific topic of the publication. Translation tags are based on the publication type and the MeSH terms NLM assigns to the publication. Some publications (especially newer ones and publications not in PubMed) might not yet be assigned Field or Translation tags.) Click a Field or Translation tag to filter the publications.
